Saddam had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11. Nothing. And no he was not a good man. But then, how many 'good men' are running countries all over the world anyway. Unfortunately for the people of Iraq, Saddam's actions were a part of the culture. There is NO connection except that the Bush administration used 9/11, AlQuaeda, Osama, and Saddam?? as an excuse to visit havoc upon that country. In addiiton to which, in now uncovered (Freedom of Information) documents, the US had been looking for an excuse to invade, to remove Saddam and take over Iraq's oil reserves since Bush Sr. If the people of the UInited States had read, listened and demanded more, everyone would have been aware of this plan; and that includes our sorry representation in the House and Senate.
So Saddam has been sentenced to be hanged. So what.!!There's an appeal process which will likely keep him alive for at least another year. Actually not many people in the US give a rats azz about Saddam anyway. They are more concerned with our troops and why the heck they are there anyway. Even the troops are beginning to ask questions. Those that is, who haven't been brainwashed.
The republicans will win or lose based upon what the voters want. Actually I am not too hopped up on voting anyway. If the Dems win, all I can say is that I hope they win by LARGE margins. If not, the Repubs will do everything in their power to keep the races OPEN ....

He had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. As a matter of fact, he was scared of bin Laden. Does that sound like someone who would help him? Bush used 9/11 as an excuse to go after Saddam - on his first day in office he told his insiders he was going to remove him - and he did, but look at the cost. Has it been worth it for your little vendetta Dubya? They called Saddam the Butcher of Baghdad. Sooner or later, they'll start calling Bush, the Butcher of Washington.
That verdict by the way is Part One of Bush's November Surprise to get people to vote Republican. Part Two will probably come today or tomorrow when they announce the capture of bin Laden. If that doesn't happen, a lot of people will be surprised.

Saddam had no connection to 9/11. And no his sentence will not help Republicans?
Everyone knows Saddam is evil. However, war is to protect the U.S. and he wasn't a threat to us. Most Americans, now disagree with the decision to go to war, and they disapprove of the presidents job performance in handling the war. So this trial won't affect politics in America at all. Americans really don't care about Iraqis they care about Americans. It is sad but true.

Iraq and Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. It is possible that the Republicans might get some votes because of the sentencing. It is suspicious that the timing of the sentence was before the US elections.

The reason you don't know the connection is because there is none. However, the Bush government has been calling this a war on terror to justify the killing of innocent Iraqi citizens as well as the deaths of thousand of our American soldiers who are bravely fighting a war that should never have happened.
I don't think anything will help the Republicans at this point. The sentencing will only increase the violence and killing in Iraq and could well cause another attack on America.

Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, that was another lie. No, it will not help the republicans. But, on the other hand, he was evil, and the people of Iraq, did need to be rid of him. It's just a shame that the Bush administration lied about it to begin with.

Even President Bush has admitted that Saddam had NOTHING to do with 9/11, even though he, Bush, said otherwise when asking Congress for authority to go to war against Iraq. Thus far, EVERY justification for going to war in Iraq has proven false, and George Bush KNEW they were false MONTHS before he ordered the war anyway. Saddam was and is an absolute creep - but his was a show trial with the verdict pre-determined. It will serve only to make the Repugs look worse - as if that were possible! Bush even laughed about American casualties whilst attending a banquet. The filthy Repug-tard!

It's not that Saddam had anything to do with 9/11, but that 9/11 gave political justification to come down hard on Saddam.
Saddam was perceived as a potential threat to global security in that he developed weapons of mass destruction in the past. The invasion of Iraq was justified as a preemptive act to prevent a future 9/11's from happening. He refused to allow U.N. weapons inspectors continue, calling the U.N.'s bluff to do something about it.
I believe that in the short term, Saddam's sentence will not help the Republicans in that there is a mandatory appeal trail. So brace yourself for another long trial and more sectarian violence from both sides over this issue.

I think we wanted to go into Iraq but did not have a reason, when 9/11 happen it gave us a reason. Almost everyone in this country wanted something done about the attack, Iraq was at that time thumbing its nose at us and not cooperating as far as the inspections. Saddam was a danger to that area of the world.
I don't think his sentening will help the republicans, because by the time the other charges go to court and he is sentenced for those crimes he will die of old age.

There is no connection between Saddam Hussein and the events of 9/11/2001. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld have said this repeatedly.
