I had two ear piercings that were closed for a year, I asked a question on Yahoo on how to open them, and what I did was rub alcohol and push my earring through it. It opened up. I did this yesterday, now it is red and hurts, I know its a bit infected. what can I do to get rid of the pain and wear my earrings again? And I won't let them close up again. What can I put on it everyday to heal?

Clean them with alchol and bacitricin until the infection clears us. Maybe some ice to ease the pain, if you take the earrings out they are just going to close back up until it is completely healed.

Maya !!!!!

As for the question, Yes, your ear is infected. It happens. Even when the hole didnt close. It happens every now and then. Usually the hole will still be there so you should have used a very very clean earring with a small post to push through. It would have been also nice if you put an antiseptic to your ear and earring right away after you had done it.

Put a bit of antibiotic ointment on the earring post (front and back of the ear) so that it also goes through your earlobe.

Keep it clean., fingers, earring itself. Be scrupulously clean.

Oh man!!!!! This not good, now your Brain will run out your ears!!!
Use the Hydrogen Peroxide as mentioned above. Also, it may not hurt to use that antibiotic salve, Neosporin, or a general substitute. If, you want to try and wear ear-rings put the Neosporin on the posts before you put them in. It should be OK.
I do want to add, I feel the Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin should keep your Brain intact and it not run out your ears.

keep your earrings in and don't use peroxide it only makes the wound harder to heal. use alcohol to help dry it out and neosporin and constantly rotate the earring so that it does not get all crusty around the earring.

Use peroxide twice a day until it stops bubbling and then use alcohol . You will have to keep the earrings in day and night for at least six weeks
