I'm OK with the Yanks having 26 world championships and the Cards with 10. Hey, I gotta look for every little thing I can to make the Cardinals look like the best baseball franchise of all-time.
Another thing: the Cards' 10 rings are more admirable than the biggest city in the U.S. having 26.

Amazingly, amongst these two teams each the only to win at least 10 World Series championships, the Cardinals beat the Yankees in 1926, 1942, and 1964 (interesting, isn't it? 1's, 9's, 2's, 4's, and 6's) while the Yankees only won in 1928 and 1943. Also, if you did not know, in the current decade (20-otts), the Yankees (2000, 2001, 2003) and Cardinals (2004, 2006) are the only teams to play in multiple World Series.
