Im looking for the song that Rat is playing on the radio when he takes out the girl he likes (for got her name) for the first time. For advice, Damone tells him to play it. I think its Led Zeppelin but I dont know the name of the song and its not in any of the movie music listings Im finding. Help!

The song is by Led Zeppelin but it is not on Led Zeppelin "4" as Damone suggests. The song is called "Kashmir" (written by Page/Plant/Bonham, 8:31 long) and it is on the album "Physical Graffiti". It is not on the movie's soundtrack album.

Those are all based on real places in San Diego. The mall is actually UTC, the High School is Clairemont High. The real "Point" overlooks Mission Bay Park, and Cameron Crowe still noshes on 7-11 hot dogs and Big Gulps towards the end of Linda Vista Rd when he needs inspiration for his next movie. His mom taught San Diego City College for years. He needs to do a sequel to "Almost Famous" about when he wrote "Fast Times" because he upset a lot of people.

Actually the song quoted in the movie and the song played in the movie are not the same..the song in the movie is actually Kashmir by Led Zeppelin.

yes it is led zeppelin side two of album "4" - i believe the song he played was misty mountain hop
