If the countertop is REAL, and not a composite granite, try some fingernail polish[acetone] to see if it will soften the glue, and then take a razor blade[one of the old type single edged] and use it to scrape the glue. Be careful.

the glue manufacturer has phone numbers and web sites for help n these matters. Try them first. Also, call the granite company and get their take on it.
