for my 5 month old to "walk" to people when I hold onto his hands? He loves to stand up, and seems to know to put one foot infront of the other when I hold his hands, and if you have patience with him he'll walk to the other side of the room. Is this early or did other peoples babies do the same thing?

This is complelty normal. You womderful little boy is displaying the 'stepping reflex.' This coms natural from the day of birth. If you notice with a newborn, when their feet touch the ground, the pick it up and place the other foot on the ground. But now that your little guy has better posture, and can keep his head up on his own, he wants to go for it!

My first son starting doing the same thing at about 5 months as well. In about a few weeks or months, yous on will probably be 'grazing.' This is when they hold onto furniture and wlak themselves.

Keep in mind though, that just because your little man is waling with help, it might be a while before he actually walks on his own. My first son was 11 months when he started walking on his own, and my no 13 months old son hasnt even started yet.

Good luck, and have fun! Your baby is developing at a great rate!

It's perfectly normal. My daughter was 5 1/2 months when she pulled herself up and walked across my living room with a push-toy. I was freaking out. My older daughter hadn't done this until she was 8 months. My baby still didn't walk until she was 9 months old though. Your baby is just a fast learner.

Walking standing etc will do nothing to harm your baby's legs. In fact about 60% of all babies have a stand reflex where they like to stand holding something as young as three months. Don't worry

i have seen babies walking at 7 month but not that Early. however, if your baby seem to be developing in this early stage you should be careful with him because you don't want him to damage his little 5 month old cute legs. i think his legs are still too weak to support his whole body.

It's normal. Even a newborn will do this, it's called the stepping reflex. My daughter could always do this, but didn't walk by herself until she was 11 months old.

the baby is a fast learner... my sister started walking when she was at least 4 and a half she's 4 now but she learned fast so your baby is fine he just don't want to do baby things anymore...let him take he's time and learn in his own way...best wishes to you and ur baby

You need to be careful that you don't bow his legs. The joints are not yet ready for the constant weight of baby.
