Pet cats and dogs are common in the UK. In fact we are known as a nation of animal lovers.
There are a number of other animals kept here too:- Gerbils, mice, hamsters, budgies and canaries (and some other exotic birds), tarantulas etc.

Us Brits love out pets, we love out cats and dogs, the posh will have their ponys and horses oh and lots of people seem to have fish and most children seem to have a phase of having guiene pigs and hamsters, (although these usually die after a couple of years!!)

i'm from uk and as a nation we love our pets - having said that, there is also A LOT of cruelty to animals :-( the most common pets are cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, rabbits and budgies.

Russia - cats by a mile. Some people have dogs but they are often not well looked after and end up as strays.
