8 or 9 hours as much as she feels she needs...many teenagers need lots of sleep and will find themselves falling asleep after school...this is pretty normal. get lots of sleep your mind and body are growing and need it.

The average person needs between 6 to 8 hours sleep. However a growing adolescent needs more sleep. The jury's out on this one but opions vary some recommend anything from 8 to 12 hours sleep.

We are all different of course and this is a generalisation, some people, including adolescents, need very little sleep. I have heard of some surviving on as little as 4 or 5 hours sleep a day. However this is unusual, I would recommend about 8 to 10 hours, but you will know yourself by trial and error. Listen to your body, if it needs rest then rest but don't forget to study, exercise and make sure you leave plenty of time for FUN!!
