iPod is a brand name Apple uses for their MP3 players.

MP3 is a format of music file that iPods can play, or is short for MP3 players.

MP3 players are made by companies as well as Apple.

Examples are Creative (Mine's a Zen Touch), iriver, Phillips and Sony (I think).

There are other brand names out there but I can't think of them atm.

If you like having lots of storage space (Mine can hold up to 10000 songs) and good sound quality and aren't too fussed about the size of your player, then I highly recommend the Creative Zen Touch 20GB(20 gigabytes).

MP3 stands for Motion Picture Experts Group (third iteration, we also have MP4) a compression technique for audio similar to JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group for images).

iPods play MP3s. So do lots of other things.
