Please help me. My girlfriend of almost 6 years is finally pregnant! The problem is that she had unprotected sex with someone besides me. She had sex with the other guy on August 18th, she had a heavy bleeding and clotting period that started on August 22nd. We had unprotected sex 3 times between August 27th and on Septmeber 6th. What are the possibilites that I am this baby's father. I really want the baby to be mine. For the record the other man in question only has 1 testicle, not sure if that plays in to it at all. Thanks so much ahead of time for any help.

The period information is based on what she has told me, and I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt on that one.

If your girlfriend had a true period (not spotting) after having unprotected sex with this other guy, then this other guy can't be the father. Menstrual bleeding occurs as a result of an egg not being fertilized. Since you've had sex with her after her menses and she hasn't had any menstrual bleeding since, that would make you the father.

If you want to be 100% certain, have a paternity test done.

If she had her period on August 18th then she could not have been pregnant then.

If you think she is lying about when she got her period then the only true way for you to know is by a DNA test which you can get as soon as the baby is born.

I would say you can tell by how far long the doctor says she is but sometimed doctors can be off by a few days or a few weeks so it is really best you do the DNA test rather then try and figure it out threw how far along she is.

The possibilities are 50/50. You will not be 100% certain until the baby is born and you can see a resemblance or you get a paternity test.
However, I question your choice of women. She's not capable of loyalty today, think of the future, will you always have to be doubting? Neither of you are responsible, if both of you are having unprotected sex, there is more to worry about than "is the baby mine", you need to be tested for HIV and find a women that has some class, plenty of fish in the ocean, as they say.

Most likely the baby is yours. If her period started on August 22, he ovulation days are between September 2-7. The baby's due date should be May 29, 2007.

This is how I found out about my pregnancy. After the baby is born, you can have a DNA test done.

It is very highly likely that you are the father. You don't say how far along she is. If she had a heavy bleeding period AFTER she had sex with this guy, I would say that there's only a tiny, tiny, chance that it could be his. You CAN have periods while pregnant, and don't let anyone tell you different. I've known 3 women who had periods until their 5th month of pregnancy. They are generally light periods though. If the concern is still there after the baby is born, have a paternity test done. They are completely painless to you and the baby. I hope this baby is yours if you really want that.

first of all, maybe you shouldn't be trying to conceive with someone who can't commit? what kind of parent will she be if she can't commite herself?
you seem to have a lot of intimate knowledge about her and about this man. how do you know the type of bleeding she experienced? sure you're not her? not really important to me, but if you are her, you can't even be honest in cyberspace where you are completely anonymous; indicates you aren't comfortable with yourself and you're definitely not ready for motherhood
is she pregnant since august/september? your question isn't really answerable If Aug 22 was her last period and if her periods were regularly cycled at every 28 days, she should have ovulated on about Sept 5. she could get pregnant between five days before and two days after ovulation, so chances are she was impregnated in that time period. It is possible though, to have a period after conceiving, so it is also possible she conceived by this other man. The only safe way to know for sure is to wait until the child is born and have a paternity test.
god help you all to learn to think before acting; procreation should be a serious and thoughtful undertaking as opposed to an afterthought

Better get a paternity test better safe than sorry I think that you would want to decide now if you want to be a dad or not irregardless of who the babies sperm donor is.I would say if you love her enough it doesn't matter who donated the DNA you would be the man and step up

It sounds like you are relying on her statement of facts concerning when she had sex with this other person and when she menstruated. That is a bad idea. If she is dishonest enough to cheat on you, she is dishonest enough to lie to you about when she slept with the other person and her menstrual cycle. Bottom line: a paternity test is the ONLY way to know whether the child is yours. Do not rely on her version of events.

it sounds very likely that you are the father to me. even if the other guy turned out to be the father, since you want the baby it takes more than dna to be a father. i really think you are the father though.
good luck

It sounds to me like the likelihood of you being the father is good, but only a paternity test can tell.
