Yeah, picking hardware can be confusing.

Your basic config seems OK, but based on the tasks you say you want to accomplish:

- 80 Gb HD or better, mp3s can take up a lot of space. Depends how much mp3s really.
- 1024 Mb system memory or possibly even 2 Gb if you have the cash to spare, this will really help with photoshop.

the rest sounds fine.

Sounds like a great computer but may I suggest you call Dell. I have always had great experiance with them they have 24 hour support and are always willing to lend a hand. The agent will ask you questions as to what you will mainly use your system for and get you rolling from there. Best Buy is also a great source. Many of the Cusotomer service reps are very knowlagable and can walk you through the whole process. The computer above should be a fantastic sytem though. Good luck

CPU speed is good memory is a little low, 1mb ram or better, WINXP likes at least 512 so your at the bare minimum. Your hard drive should be atleast an 80gb you'll fill up 60 fast with a large selection of songs.

I agree, Your hardware sounds just fine for what you want to do but you must also consider the operating program. I'd suggest Windows XP Media Edition.
