They are also called a Laundromat and coin-operated laundry.

Here is a book you can buy: http://www.amazon.com/Start-Coin-Operated-Laundry-Entrepreneur-Magazines/dp/189198487X

Here is a bunch of general info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laundromat , http://www.macgray.com/la6_hist.html , http://www.huebsch.com/PRODUCTS/coin.htm , http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~brians/errors/laundrymat.html , and http://www.wascomat.net/docs/sect02/coin_clndries.jsp .

It's called a laundromat.

Laun·dro·mat (lôndr-mt, län-)

A service mark used for a commercial establishment equipped with washing machines and dryers, usually coin-operated and self-service.

Anyways, I put in sources a few websites you can look up.

First, you need to spell it right to do the research; "laundry". Self service laundries usually go under the wording "coin operated laundry".
