In theory you could get a positive result with an HPT ( home pregnancy test ) the third week ofter the first day of your last period.

This is of course if you have a regular cycle and you ovulate 14 days prior to your next first day of menstrual period.

Most HPT's look for a level of Hcg ( pregnancy hormone ) of 20 - 50 mIU/ml. Blood test looks for a level of 5 mIU/ml for a positive which can be detected of course much earlier.

I added a link below to show the usual levels of Hcg during pregnancy week by week. As you can see it may not be till week 5 or 6 before someone who is pregnant to up to even 20 mIU/ml. Hence why there are so many false negatives. They were just did not have a high enough hcg count yet.

Hcg levels usually double every 2 to 3 days after conception.

I took a HPT at cycle day 26 or 12 days past my ovulation date and it was positive. Many others have gotten positive HPTs by 8 to 10 days past ovulation.

I added an online ovulation calculator to help predict when you might have ovulated to be able to count how many days past ovulation one might be at.

I have also added a link of different HPT's and the levels of Hcg they look for. The lower the Hcg that the HPT looks for the sooner you can test and maybe get a positive test.

Good luck! and I hope this helped!

in theory you can get a positive home pregnancy test three days after implantation. however for most women implantation does not happen for 10-12 days after ovulation.
in reality that means 95% of women will not test positive on any pregnancy test (even a blood test from the doctors office) till the day they miss there period.

I had a positive test 4 days before my period was due, and that was nearly 6 years ago, so I am sure test could be better now.

Best of luck, and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

The 1st day your period is due is the earliest but nowadays you may be able to get a positive result detected if you buy a good kit they are pretty sensitive. Try clear blue.
