Possibly an infection. Possibly the result of a recent course of anti-biotics. Possibly irritable bowel syndrome, and possibly Crone's disease. See a doctor for a complete diagnosis. You might want to take a stool sample with you - use a disposable plastic bowl to catch some of the excreta before it goes into the toilet, and then transfer it to a small sealed container. Take it with you the day you go to the doctor.

To maintain electrolyte balance - drink a pint of water with a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of sugar added - this is the equivalent of the expensive electrolyte drinks you get at the pharmacy. Try and drink several pints a day to make up for the water you are losing.

That's a long time...It could be a number of things. If it is a stomach bug, then you need to stop your food intake and just drink water (also so you don't get dehydrated) as any food will help the bug to regenerate...you must see a doctor as 10 days is excessive without medical help.

Go to a pharmacist. Get some rehydration salts and immodium or other medication to stop it.

You might also be reinfecting yourself with a bug - change any water bottles/cups/glasses/crockery/cutlery you use. Change your pillows and try to ait your apartment.

If these things don't work, go to a doctor. You might also ask your pharmacist's advice while you're there - 10 days is a long time.
