The key word is team. The players have to fit into a comfort zone which includes all of them. Kobe is a great player, so it would be foolish if they didn't try to run a lot of their offense through him: however, he has to learn to find the open man when the opponents collapse on him. To complete this cycle, his teammates have to consistently put the ball in the hoop when he dishes it off to them.
For the Lakers to play to their optimum, Kobe has to average around 25 points and 8-9 assists per game. If he is averaging more points, the other players are being taken out of the game too often. If he is averaging less assists, his is not involving his teammates often enough. All this being said and done, they have to concentrate on team defense. The rest will come around on its own.

I think that since Kobe was not on the court for the first two games his teamates were not pressured as much to make clutch plays. Kobe came back in the third game with high expectations and molded into the team. I think they can maybe win another two games and i am calling a 5+ game losing streak. LAKERS HAVE NO BIG MEN WHO ARE CONSISTENT

yes.kobe is obviously talented, but a truly great player can bring up his team.that doesnt mean he single handedly has to win every game though.like u said, his one man game knocked the lakers out of the playoffs.and they(lakers)arent really all that bad.but if kobe fit in like the unity the pistons have, the lakers would be better than they are, and kobe would be respected more, instead of being thought of as selfish.take tim duncan for example.hes the team leader, but he makes the team better.same w/steve nash.

Yes he should be trying to fit in with his team. One, he's recovering from a surgery and is not yet capable of carrying the team even if they needed him to...which they don't. They showed in those first 2 games that they are pretty darn good without him. Guess why? They were able to play to their strengths instead of deferring to Kobe's strengths.

Kobe walks on water, Kobe can do no wrong. The other 14 guys should warship the ground he walks on.......... I think Kobe will play a whole game 1 on 5 before the end of the season......

Sometimes a good player will make sucky players better. But it does help to have a couple of good players on a team. Look at the Bulls and their 6 champioships. 3 good players and the rest were basically role players.

i just think he lost trust in his team mates last year because of the way they where playing and now that alot of the players he played with last year are starting to improve there game he now knows that he can trust other players then trying to take over a game every night .. watch out for the lakers this year the are playing togather and knowing what needs to be done to win

HELLLLLL NO! if any other player had the same team, they wouldn't be in as high of a position so i wouldn't be talkin. i do have to say however that his teammates have improved tremendously BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY'RE IN CHARGE! bottom line: KOBE is the BEST damn player in the NBA EVERand he's the team CAPTAIN. great teams are built around GREAT PLAYERS, not okay or good ones, so that's that.
