Always follow the manufacturers instructions when applying wax and allow the recommended drying time between coats and before buffing or burnishing.
Apply at least four coats of wax prior to burnishing. Your results will be improved by mopping the floor with a restorer or floor maintainer designed for buffing.
Here are a few burnishing tips:
· Make sure floors are clean and dust free to prevent forcing the dirt into the finish
· Maintain cleanliness of your high speed floor pads to prevent polymer and soil build up from scratching or scoring the finish
· Avoid, keep track of, or replace protruding tile that contains high spots. When encountering a high spot, push down on the buffer handle to reduce machine pressure and avoid burn marks

why would you burnish right after putting the wax on? If you stripped the previous wax off before applying the new coats of wax, you should not have to burnish your floor right afterwards.
