First and foremost, I believe, personally, that this man is guilty of crimes against humanity.
I don't think this man has been given a fair and just trial, however. How many judges has this case seen? This trial has been a show trial in a country which despises him and makes a mockery out of the democracy won by the people of Iraq (what is the point in changing the regime when the policy stays the same). When Milosevic was tried for crimes against humanity he was given a hearing in an international court - the same should be afforded to Saddam. I am enraged at the hipocrisy of our politicians (in the U.K) who are all clapping their hands and jumping for joy at the decission to hang this man, with the exception of Menzies Campbell, the same politicians who supposedly fight vehemontly against corporal punishment and the death sentence.
Don't get me wrong I do think the man is guilty and will get what he deserves but justice must be SEEN to be what it is FAIR and JUST.

To the likes of Saddam, Hitler, Stalin and something the in basic terms sentence suitable for them will be Athenian Draconian regulation. so that you do not ought to go heritage searching, the Athenians (even as they convicted someone of similar crimes "previous genuine looking doubt", the want lead the guy to an section out part Athens the position a public execution got here about. that they had 2 Pine timber grown approx. 15ft aside. they might bend their tops, tie the convicts legs on each and each and every, and then "enable go". cruel, inhumane, and down correct terrible. One draw decrease back to this kind of execution although....you spot after a number of those public executions, there have been no more effective rapists, Armed Robbers, Hijackers, street Robbers, thugs praying on the weal, or mass murderers, inclusive of convicted traitors..... humorous how the Ancients worked out some issues isn't' it. heritage comments, that you'll walk/commute competently, camp outdoors, or not in any respect had to pressure if the door is locked, everywhere interior the Athenians territories.

Saddam is receiving the justice from his country due him. The Shites were tortured and murdered for years by Saddam, his military and Sunni gang of warring mobsters. As the Germans from WW2 received their countries justice Saddam his now getting his. Let's hope the sentence is carried out swiftly.

"War gives the right to the conquerors to impose any condition they please upon the vanquished." - Julius Caesar
I am absolutly against killing people as a punishment. I think that society seeks revenge rather than reform and life is valued too cheaply. I am sure that even Saddam could still do some good in this world given the right opportunity.

First, the decision will be overturend on appeal
Second, do NOT hang this man, as it will give the insurgency a martyr

If they hang him he`s a martyr. Life in prison, he`s a security problem. Suicide - no problem. He might not want to do that though. Perhaps someone could do it for him. Watch this space!
