My respects.
I've wondered the same thing for a long time.
Sex is good for you and violence is bad.

It just doesn't make sense.

My apologies to Christian leaders, and I don't watch their shows,
but why is Gay sex bad, and harassing dead Marines funerals good.

Try going to the Middle East. There women are covered from head to toe, but you will see the decapitated head of a suicide bomber on the front page of the newspaper.

Having traveled around the world quite a bit, I find us Americans to be prude compared to Europeans, but not compared to most other parts of the world.

Also, the cities in the US tend to be liberal, and the rural areas more conservative. These fundamentalists in my country obviously exist, but I have actually met very few of them, as I lived in cosmopolitan areas in the US.

Is this a question or a serious question or a statement hidden in a question? Cause i hate those. Anyways. It goes back to the Mayflower. The original sttelers were puritans. they had the "sex is bad mentality" and had very strict behavioral codes, but they also felt it was ok to be violent toward indians. go figure.

Because the country was first settled by a bunch of Puritans, and in some way, their influence has filtered through the centuries.

violence is a replacement for sex. in america we are victims of our puritan past. in cultures where sex is somewhat suppressed, then violence tends to be more viewed.

I think because violence is something that we see everyday, but sex is something that is behind closed doors. I think that is the only difference.

in a sex starved society sex is all that matters. and of any kind.violence affects few concerned folks thats why sex gets more coverage and also it sells

because the ones that like sex in the media, want to control sex in the media
are usually violent
and that
is why they are, among other things, the censors of it.
