If you have read Animal Farm and 1984, you would have to see how prophetic Orwell was. We are living those two books today and it is scary to see what our nation has become.

I think of Orwell's prophetic words often these days when reading the news. 'Newspeak' is rampant and what was that phrase...something like, Wrong is Right or Bad is Good?
We're letting this Orwellian trend happen.

Orwell is a FICTION writer. His stories are make believe fairy tales which strike a chord with some people who would like to believe that is the way humanity behaves. What happens when you deny God? And believe in the prophet Orwell? There are other sick fairy tales you might enjoy if you liked Orwell. How about "Lord of the Flies"?

Im not a right winger, I read Animal Farm in 8th grade and just last night ordered 1984 after seeing a quote from on here. So whoever quoted it thanks!
I am looking forward to reading it and may re read Animal Farm because ya know 8th grade I barely read it probably.

I'm left wing and I don't like the guy. He writes well but he was very paranoid and no, we're not living that today. Prophetic? No. Paranoid. He also spoke as if he was on a soap box and was 100% right and saw something no one else did.
Read some of his short "stories"/political opinion papers. He has a horrifically large ego. He's really quite annoying.
