particular, i'm particular the anti-alcohol crowd can dig up some "learn" that demonstrates that X volume of harm is accomplished via a million gram of alcohol. To be blunt. we've considered all that before by the years. ad infinitum parroted interior the media yet in no way a word appropriate to the suspect technique or the doubtful statistical conclusions. a modern-day howling occasion - the meant reward of fish oils. I spend my working days observing information that incorporate comments of study which at the instant are not too distinctive and that i take all of them *** grano salis. i replaced into already over 21 while the ingesting age replaced into dropped to 18. I easily have consistently thought it replaced right into a bad thought. A bar guy can in many situations tell notwithstanding if maximum young ones are 15 or 21 however the distinction between 15 and 18 isn't so obvious. on the different hand parents are sending 18 twelve months olds out into the international with none journey of alcohol. Ban something and it turns into glamorous. extra suitable to enable sixteen -17 twelve months olds have some beverages (2 or 3) decrease than supervision to allow them to work out that it somewhat is no longer something

I can't say I watch the soap but surely it is just reflecting real life. I celebrated my 14th birthday in a pub with friends and was going to nightclubs from 15 years old.

It may seem irresponsible to show these kinds of things but soaps are supposed to deal with real issues (although they are often hard to believe) and that means showing drinking, smoking, drug taking, crime etc. As long as soaps deal with the pitfalls with these social issues and not just glamorise them, then I don't think it's a huge problem.

And personally, although I do not wish to condone underage drinking, I feel it's better in a pub environment than on the street or in the local park

I know it's so unrealistic, When I was at school I had to drink in the street, if only there hed been a show like Hollyoaks to show me that I could pretend to be 18 and get into pubs and bars.

I guess the reality is that underage drinking goes on all the time and they portray that on the television shows to keep it real...the tv kids always make big mistakes, or commit crimes, or reveal secrets when they are plastered makes for good tv for writers who have no creativity

i used to get into pubs as young as 15 without trying, yet on my 18th birthday i got rejected from a pub, so my older friend gave me his driving licence so i could get into the next pub we went to. i still find it funny

It is supposed to be (vaguely) realistic rather than a moral ideal. It is a show of entertainment not ethical teaching.
