which of the following transitions will give the highest energy emission line for atomic hydrogen
A. n=4-->n=2
B. n=7-->n=2
C. n=4-->n=2
D. n=6-->n=2

I think the answer is A, but, not too sure about it, any explanations would be helpful

option c is n=4-->n=1

I'm not going to tell you but look use Saha's equation to find out the energy in ev of each level. Then you can work out the energy value of the jump. It's just a simple bit of maths. But you are wrong so have a think
