I have a new laptop and have installed iTunes. My iPod has heaps of music already on it which I dont want to lose. I no longer have access to the previous iTunes. Is there anything I need to do before plugging in my iPod into my new laptop (such as the restore/update option etc).

Thank u heaps for your help!

make sure your ipod syncs manually to itunes not automatically. if your ipod sycns automatcially then when you connect ipod to your new itunes on new laptop it will ask you to sync .. select no.. and then go to your ipod setting on your itunes and in music section select sync automatically.. it wont be a bad idea to backup your music librayr.. before you connect it to itunes.. email me if you need more help

No you dont have to do anything, you can sync your iTunes to the stuff on your iPod once its connected.

if you are happy with all your songs on your iPOD, then dont use itunes... and only connect iPod to laptop for charging....
if you want to add new music, then i am afraid you will have to format iPod and start again
