trying to remove this engine i have all the bolts and wires of i have double checked every thing the engine is loose it comes away from the tranny about a 1/2 inch than just stops am I missing something?

this is a 4x4 everything is unhooked motor is loose it is seperated from the tranny about 1/2 inch but it just stops i have looked it over 3 or 4 times and everything seems to be removed and loose !

ha a standard trans 5 speed!

been to autozone and checked that ! everything is unhooked motor and trans can not be removed together do to it being 4x4 !i can prie the engine and tranny apart about 3/4 of an inch but than it stops motor moves around freely like it is lose til it gets to that point than stops !

Here are some thimgs tha tyou need to check. Exhaust manifold,flywheel bolts (and or) cover. engine mounts, wire harness,vacuum harness, A.C compressor, and you sho;uld also may have to raise the transmission and engine assembly enough for the oil pan to clear the crossmember. Hope that helps

Try this;

Pull up your vehicle and print out the manual section for what you are trying to do. then take that to where you are working on your vehicle and check off each step as you go through the removal. I do this when I am unfamiliar wiith an engine removal.
Many times I pull the engine and transmission together. I power wash the cavity and spray paint white the engine compartment, usually just on vehicles I own, this sure lights up the area when you go to put things back together.

Well, is the tranny an automatic, or standard? Did you disconnect everything there?
