FIRST QUESTION: is poverty due to corruption?
SOME OF THE POVERTY IS DUE TO GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION(S) ON ITS PEOPLE
ANOTHER CAUSE IS LACK OF EDUCATION AND LACK OF WORK RESOURCES TO BE ABLE TO EARN A LIVING AND LAZINESS

SECOND QUESTION: what makes people die for money?

The Poverty is not only due to the Corruption but also the laziness The Corruption takes the first place in case of the poverty as the Corrupting people take all the money which is need to go to the people and also not taking action against anybody who indulge in those things which will create poverty because for the sake of Money

It's a viscious cycle. Wanton corruption leads to poverty, and more poverty weakens consciences which further encourage corruption.
People die for money? Money is nothing - it's what money buys that makes people die for. IMHO, it's just that the commercial world has done their advertising so successfully that they associated almost all of human's well being with some commodities/goods/services. To the point that if you don't own them, you are might as well be dead.

Actually, corruption is found where there's money; but not where there's poverty. The urge to survive - live life, makes people die for money.

POVERTY is state of mind not the lack of money, see people in the street they are hungry, but happy.
people die for money, because they think the world is made up of only one factor:money.Corruption is a team work not accomplished alone.
actually they are in a good trap that they are compelled to do so.
If we are aware, no one can betray us...
