I applied for an apartment in August of this year to get an early start of getting approved. although the apartment I live in now. not happy living here not worth leasing again. I was approved for the apartment in August. but when I called the leasing office . a leasing agent told me I would have to re apply. I do not understand why I would have to get approved all over again. this person I spoke with was not the actual person who approved my application. so when I call on Monday for for rep who approved me , what if she says the same thing. I'm asking all of you have you ever known of having to fill out another app. after being approved already ?

It's a little strange that they are having you re-apply when all they have to do is update your application. It has been several months and your situation could very well have changed.
Generally, when an applicant is called in for a rental interview, they are asked to bring current documentation for just that reason and also for the landlord to verify that it is really the applicant on the other side of the desk.
An application usually costs both the landlord (processing costs) and the applicant (the fee) so it's odd to have someone repeat the process in 3 months' time. I would ask about the whereabouts of the first application, and I certainly would not want to pay another fee (I hope you have a copy of the application you filled out as well as proof of any fees paid).
I wouldn't quibble over paperwork if you really want to live there but you will want to know what happened to the first application since the answer to that is an indication of how the management office is run (something you definitely want to know about since it relates to the handling of your security deposit and rent payments).

Yes, sometimes the application is only good for so long. For example where i work the application is good for 4 months, so if your approved you must move in within 4 months of the application date otherwise you have to do the paperwork all over again. Some may be only 1 month, it depends. it sucks but if you were approved before you shouldn't have any problem.

they process aps in hours so just apply again the amount its gonna take you to argue with these peopel your lease would have allready been approved. not to mention your only hurting your case if you argue before you sign a lease cause then they can turn around and deny you. so i would just fill everything out again or bring them the copy of the old one and resubmit. i think they are makeing you do it again cause august was 4 months ago and a lot can change on your credit in 4 months.

You were approved months ago.

You're financial situation could have changed, you may have lost your job, you could have gotten married, you could have gotten a divorce, anything could have gone on that would somehow affect your ability to be a good tennant.

If you have nothing to hide then there is no reason why you shouldn't reapply. It's only a bit of information that needs to be filled out, and since you've done it before you know exactly what you need and where to find it, so it should be easy enough to figure out .

You need to ask them why you are required to re-apply. Then take it from there. The only reason I can think of is because they lost your application. Otherwise, the application can remain on file for a year.
