Well, the last one I can think about was the dean of Oaxaca's (in México) university.
He has hell coming because he refused the entry of police in the campus when they were about to purge the city from protesters, this made illegal for them to enter (it is an autonomous university) and thus made the campus into some sort of sanctuary for people that otherwise would have their rights canceled.
The people of Oaxaca has been pretty heroic too, it takes something else to keep resisting when you have criminals shooting at you and military doing crowd control against you (of course, military and criminals aren't fighting each other).

There is no hero to me though I know some people that are very heroic. But without a hero you can act and think in a more independent way.

Yes I have known many hero's, Many where just normal people with nothing but average life's. But all had the same thing in common. They put the needs of others before them selves. No one can do it all by them-self, And they never seek personnel acclaim.

Jesus, and my dad. They both loved me unconditionally, and everthing they ever did was for someone else's benefit.
