i bought a weed eator off a guy he told me that it didn't work and he didn't know why. so i took it off of his hands for $20.00. anyways i replaced the spark plug then it tried to start i then cleaned out the carborator with cleaner. now it will only start if i clean out the carb. with cleaner. does any one know why it will not fire every time

Check that you gas is good, I use only the very best 2-cycle oils. Make sure your air filter is clean, it is best to buy a new one. Something that some people don't think of: you have a spark arrestor on that, you may need to take that out of you muffler and clean it, I usually throw them away. Don't get caught in CA without one though. There are very small holes in the carb, I use a shipping tag wire to run through them. If you need parts you can go to an Echo Dealer, Echo makes them for Deere.

Sounds like it only starts if your spraying carb cleaner in. Either the choke isn't working or the feeder jet in the carburator is clogged. You'll have to disassemble the carb and spray cleaner through the jet holes.

Sounds like your mechanically inclined so if you take the carb off and do it at a table and carefully take it apart paying attention to where the pieces came from and careful not to tear the gaskets it should be no problem. You'll be able to tell what holes are the feeder jets.
