My wife and I have had two children very close to together (they are 11 months apart). For the last 4 Years my wifes hormones have been very unstable, they are only starting to normalise now. She has also been experiencing heavy & painfull cycles over the last year. This month has now seen painfull breasts. Has anyone had similer experiences? And what was diagnosis & prognosis? Thanks

no prognosis no diagnosis just painful breasts, i have gotten it too, just part of pms, and while it really is a pain to put up with, so are some of the the other symptoms of pms. seems like i never really experienced it until after I had my children too. just be understanding for her, maybe warm compresses will help, don't push her into anything while they are tender. I have noticed that it doesn't seem to get as bad when I have been excersizing, but this may be different with every woman and it isn't always easy to get into an excersize routine. But the excerisize would also help her painful cramping. Good luck, and just try to be understanding for her during this time.

Sore breasts and uncomfortable periods are signs of hormones. They say that it takes AT LEAST a year to even regulate the hormones after 1 pregnancy. I just went through very painful tender breasts and I am not pregnant. If the tender breasts occur before her period and aleviate after than she has nothing to worry about. Of course make sure she's and/or you are completing (fun for both, lol) her breast exams and she's getting the necessary medical treatment to catch anything out of the norm. Motrin and a heating pad did it for me.

I had very sore breasts during PMS and heavy periods. My doctor put me on the pill and I had very short, light periods and no breast problems for years. Now that I am older I was able to go off of them and only have a couple of bad months a year.

Your best bet would be to have her see her Women's Health Care provider. There are lots of reasons why her breasts are sore, and her WHC provider is the best place to start.
