There shouldn't be an issue.... my friends are like family and my family are my friends. Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. Couldn't pick one over the other. And I'm glad about that.

It depends, i got asked this question once and i thought they both have different specifications.
Friend - In my view a friend, is someone you can confide in, have a laugh opposed to perhaps you parents? A friend can be someone that is there when you've done something naughty and will back you up.
Family - Again in my view, family is there for support and at the end of the day whatever you do its only your family that will be truly happy for you. Even your friends cant be as happy for you opposed to your family.
Family/Friend - This would be a brother or a sister, who you would consider family but as a bonus a friend as well. So this would probably be the best 1, If my brother wasnt disabled, him and i would do everything together just like friends but also have the family factor aswell.
Bit lengthy i know, sorry!

i think it depends on where you come from. Some people com from a very family oriented community. They are raised with the notion that family should be the centre of their life. Most imortantly, their family is there for them and takes care of them. So, if you come from a background where your family was supportive and loving then you probably consider family more important.
On the other hand, some people don't come from a very supportive family and friends become their whole world. Friends kind of become their family. So, in a sense it would still be family.
Either way, you can choose your friends but not your family, so I guess it depends on who you feel most comfortable with.

Provided that you live in a normal family that doesn't abuse you and loves you, then family. Friends are like the sun in summer. They warm you up, spread the light, make you want to have fun and enjoy your life, but when the night comes, and you need to go home, what do you do? Friends can't be there all the time, no matter how much they care about you, they can't fully understand you.

In my case, family. No one is more important to me than my family.

Depends on the situation.
If you were at a family dinner, and a friend needed you badly, maybe he was being threatened by someone and happened to be near your house, you'd make an excuse and round up a posse.
At the same time, if you were out with your mates, and a family situation came up, you drop and go as soon as possible.

Family are the ones who truly love you, friends come and go,sometimes friends decieve you,lie to you, even backstab you, but family are the ones that will never do that in the world...
