Every time I start up my computer after I installed the Linksys Wireless router with Bellsouth DSL, it pops up with a password screen that says "Connect to 192.168.1.1" and asks me for my password. It gets on my nerves to see this screen everytime I start up and on the other computers it doesn't ask me for it. I've clicked on Save Password and restarted and it still pops up. Is there anyway to get rid of that screen while making sure everything still works okay?

Two things: First, check your startup folder (Start Menu > All Programs > Startup) and see if you have the shortcut to the router. Delete it.

Second: If this happens when you start your browser, then the router has been set to your home page. To change this, simply go to the home page that you desire and open your Tools menu > Internet Options. In the area of the homepage section, click on "Use Current".

Problem fixed?

The default password for many routers is the two "password" or "admin". If neither of those works, seek the router for a small reset button. it relatively is going to likely be very tiny, with reference to the dimensions of the top of a pin, and calls which you may press it with the top of a paperclip or the top of a pen or something. Hitting that change will reason the router to reset to its preliminary production facility configuration, then a kind of two default passwords will artwork. The router needs to be plugged in for this to artwork, and you're able to be able to ought to hold the button for some seconds.

Hey. I had a similar problem. If you're running Bellsouth Fastaccess DSL and have installed it to your computer using the install disk, then you have the Bellsouth Fastaccess Help Center installed with this package as well. It's not needed from what I see. Try uninstalling the help center and restart to see if the problem goes away. I tried it and since then, no more password boxes. Hope this helps........

ok you probly want to access the modem ( 192.168.0.1 ) then find the pppoe settings and set it to pppoe on modem. then you log in to your isp on your modem. (connect pc directly to modem) next connect pc & modem to router, login to router, some where in the router is an option that asks if your connection requires a login, click no, or a pppoe setting (set pppoe on router to bridged mode or pppoe is on on modem) save settings after each change. also try what orlando said above
