It's really, really wide.

Actually, China uses the same numbers as the rest of the world, but has its own names for them.

Chinese probably know what numbers represent, and like what the previous answer stated, they just have different names for them. eg. 1 - yi, 2 - er ; and so on...There are Chinese symbols, but I doubt they are used. =)
