What you can do is read any normal 700mb/90 minutes CD or write to a CD-RW or a CD-R disc, which usually can contain 700mb of storage space and about 90 minutes of audio time if making a audio CD or CD players. You can play DVD's on your computer or use PC DVD CD's on your computer with the same CD drive. Howver you cannot write to a DVD-R or a DVD-RW using this combo, if it was a CD/DVD-RW then you could read or write both types of disc.
