no a combo drive has a DVD ROM....it cannot burn DVDs.but u can burn CDs

What you can do is read any normal 700mb/90 minutes CD or write to a CD-RW or a CD-R disc, which usually can contain 700mb of storage space and about 90 minutes of audio time if making a audio CD or CD players. You can play DVD's on your computer or use PC DVD CD's on your computer with the same CD drive. Howver you cannot write to a DVD-R or a DVD-RW using this combo, if it was a CD/DVD-RW then you could read or write both types of disc.

no you can only burn cds , you can only watch dvds,, for you to be able to burn dvds you need a dvd+/- rw to do that ,, they are fairly inexpensive and can be found at most stores and online retailers,,, what you have is called a combo drive,, it has a dvd rom for only watching dvds,, and a cdrw for using and burning cds
