Hi everyone. i wanted to know that i want to buy a low-costing laptop as i am a student. but i want to buy a ThinkPad or a Presario. i wanted to know if a 1.5 GHz celeron processor with 512 or 1 GB RAM was suitable for student-work and also watching dvd movies and listen music??

Celerons may be good for basic media, but go for Core 2, its a HUGE difference.

yea, a 1.5ghz cpu and 1gb of RAM is good
but i really don't want you to get the IBM Thinkpad if that is the thinkpad you are talking about
it is soooooo incredibally horrible!

1.5GHz is enough for media, it won't be enough if you want the fastest gaming PC in the world..but it's enough for practicly everything else..including fast games. And the RAM amount is fine.

its more than enough. if u want to optimise the pc, install windows 2000. windows xp will slow down ur computer like no other.
