On the indoor court of shanghai, Nadal has very little chance over Federer. Nadal needs the clay court to defeat Federer, he is extremely inconsistent on the hard. In truth, no player has a realistic chance of beating Federer given no unfortunate injuries or sicknesses. Robredo and Blake are dark horses but you couldn't consider them. Roddick and Lubricic have shown in the past to be extremely ineffective against the Federer game, and Davydenko is Mr. Consistent, defeating all the opponents you expect him to beat and losing to all the opponents you expect him to lose to (this means Federer). This leaves Nalbandian, the only player I rate this year to have any chance at lifting the trophy. We saw what happened last year, I admit it was extremely close and Federer wasn't feeling 100%, but Nalbandian deserves to be highly considered as the defending champion.

Giving that Nadal and Nalbandian need special requirements to beat Federer, I believe there is only one man who has a game that is as good as Federers', and unfortunately we only see it for 2 or 3 weeks every year. I'm talking about Safin, who in my opinion, is extremely disappointing and I expected him to be one of tennis' great champions when I saw the damage he could dish out earlier in his career when he seemed to have a greater drive to win (albeit with colourful "passion").

In the end, it's Nalbandian with the greatest, if prehaps still slim, chance of defeating Federer.

personally i feel itll be nadal or davydenko giving him a tough fight cos roddick is pretty inconsistent at the moment, robredo is not playing up to the mark, same for nalbandian.ljubicic hasnt played too many matches recently.but even blake has a good chance to pose a strong challenge to federer.but if someone will defeat him,if at all,its got to be nadal.

Without a doubt I would have to say Nadal. He has a winning record again Federer. If i had to choose another i would pick Blake. While Blake has lost to Federer the past few times they have played, he has given Federer a run for his money.

My pick to win it all---Blake. He has a lot to prove out there. He has not done as well as expected against other top players. This is his chance to prove that he is one of the elite players in the game.

davydenko's been on fire lately in this indoor season. can't see anyone else posing a threat this year. nadal hasn't been great..courts are fairly fast in shanghai too.
if federer is healthy 100%, no one really has a chance this year.

Definitely Nadal, and probably Nalbandian as well.

i think of Federer is basically being smart, ensuring he's sparkling for the Slams. i do no longer think of he's stressful with reference to the score anymore. He learnt from the Williams sisters. quantity a million score would not advise something in case you won't be in a position to win any slams! Plus of direction, he needs to spend time along with his daughters.
