Roddy Piper is more responsible for the emergence of wrestling as "sports entertainment" and a big time money making industry than Hogan and McMahon combined. Piper said it himself. People would not have shown up for the first 3 Wrestlemanias just because they loved Hogan so much. It's because they hated Piper that much more! Piper did it his way and not McMahons way. Hogan was just a big dumb slab of meat and did what Vince told him to do. But not Roddy. To this day, Roddy Piper is still his own man, and more hardcore and "old school" than anybody out there (with the argueable exception of Ric Flair). Piper has been in the game for better than 30 years and a body can only stand so much. Piper was always my favorite and still is today. Real men and tough guys do wear kilts and play bag-pipes!
