Yes, it's the fuel pump. Odd that it should play up after only four years. it could be that the pump itself is faulty, but it's also possible that the bracket it's mounted on has either broken or worked loose and so the pump body is making contact inside the tank and transmitting the sound better. You'll need to get it looked at, though, just in case it gets worse and does some damage.

Yes, it's the fuel pump. If it's vibrating it could have a problem that will only get worse. Best bet is to have it looked at by a professional. Chances are he will recommend replacing it. So expect that from the start.

In reality, you should hear the pump when you first turn the key on, but not loud. Then, when the pressure is up the pump should stop. If yours keeps running then there may be other issues with your fuel system. That's why it's a good idea to have it looked at professionally - unless you know how to change it yourself.

Me? I'd do the foolish thing and try to replace it myself. It's doable.

The insulator around the electric fuel pump in your gas tank has deteriorated and let the pump come in contact with fuel tank.
The only fix is to remove fuel pump and replace it. If you have a lot of miles on the car change the fuel pump at this time.

When the humming stops then so does your car.Your fuel pump is located inside the gas tank.Terrible place for it in my opinion because it is hard to replace.Your fine and so is the noise in your car

That is your fuel pump working. If it stops, you might not have any go. Or won't start. So is rather good that you can hear that pump noise. Good luck.

That would be your fuel pump, it is inside the tank. When you don't hear it then you start to worry.
