I agree with Jayant....

I work for Cisco and their certifications are very hard but very usable too. You will learn so much!

You can do self study if you are disaplined and have a comuter...there are many CCNA books out there that come with software that will mimic a router.... it's not as good as being on an actual router or in a cisco class, but it's cheaper.

Also, check out your local community college or techincal college. I know the one down the road from me offeres Cisco cert classes and it's not that expensive.

When you do go to take the test, make sure you are prepared. Cisco tests are NOT easy! They are adaptive.....that means that if it asks you 3 or 4 questions in one catagory and you get them all right it will stop asking you questions in that catagory. The flip side is that if you get 3 or 4 wrong in the same catagory it will keep asking you questions in that area until you either answer enough correctly to move on or you get too many wrong to pass that catagory anyway.

Happy learning!

I would suggest people to go for the 3 Cisco Certifications. They are expensive however, they have worldwide acceptence. Some people do the CCNA & get a job. Some companies provide scholarships for the further certifications at times, if your lucky.

go for a certification in CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) -correct me if I'm wrong. or MCSA courses. There, you'll be taught to do networking stuffs. and it's one of those certifications that you would like to grab. If you're into Networking hehe

Good luck and oh, please don't forget to rate my answer... Thanks :)
