My boyfriend and I have been dating for sometime, however he now feels as though things are not equal. HE would give up anything for me and selfishly I am not the same way. I'll say I am going to call him at a set time and ill break my promise. I will also say im not going to drink then find a random excuse to drink. I dont know why i keep breaking my promises. I love him and I want to be the perfect girlfriend for him. Please help me!

You only have a few choices, you could leave him and then you might give up for yourself, you could continue until he leaves you which would make you hate and regret what you've been doing, you could continue until he's really sad all the time and depressed..which will make you spend less time with him and break more promises. If you want to be the perfect girlfriend you have to put him first, not just change around him, because anything you break a promise for..you are putting in-front of him. You are practically saying..drinking is more important.. calling when I didn't say is more important.. you're putting him down. You need to teach yourself using imagery in your head..drink = breaking promise, taking back my word = breaking a promise, all promises are taken in the same way.. and so if you break small promises he won't know how to trust you with the big promises like being faithful. Don't make a promise when you want or think someone is going to happen, make a promise when you force yourself to make it true, in any circumstances.

Sounds like you are an alcoholic or you are well on your way. Alcohol and promises of any kind don't mix. Stop drinking and only make a promise when it is vitally important.

This is internal, as you feel that there is no consequence for your action. One might also say that you hold others in contempt, as you care not to make good on your promises

You feel that you are free to do as you choose. Until YOU decide to stop this behavior, it won;t change

dont say "i will", say "i'll try"... if u know u're not big on promises, dont make them until u're sure.
