Go and get a coin price magazine such as Coin Worlds Coin Values or Coinage magazine to give you an idea of value. You will get less than what is listed, but you will get an idea of which ones are valuable. I am sorry but you can't learn to grade coins over night, so you will have to rely on the coin dealer. Most who have stores are honest and it will not hurt to see 2 dealers. You can also see if there is a coin club in your area, they may be able to give you a lot of help. Selling on line is not a good idea, unless you know a lot about the coins you have. Buying and selling coins face to face is a much safer way to do business. hope this helps.

Do yourself a favor and don't sell anything until you know what it's worth.
Seriously, invest a few dollars in a coin catalog or two and sit down with your collection. In coins, as in most collectibles, condition is everything so be brutally honest and opt for the lesser condition. Once you have some idea of the going market go ahead and talk to a dealer.
It seems I always have a story to tell about any question I answer and this is no exception. In the 50's my Uncle saved every dime from his pockets in the evening. He dropped them in some pipe he had in his garage. In the mid 1980's he sold those dimes. He had several six foot lengths of pipe full of dimes. He had coins that doubled and tripled certain coins then in circulation. He was fortunate as he found an honest dealer. I can only imagine how sad it would have been had he not. Those coins paid his home off, bought a vacation home, a motor home, cars and established an income account. Point is he had no idea of what he had in those pipes. Just be very careful and don't get taken.
Good luck on you search...

If nonetheless at a loss for words, see a coin broking for suggestion.

EBAY is your best bet BUT, please get a price guide at a local coin store or magazine stand and know an approximate value of what you want to sell. Be careful who you trust, YOU are the only one looking out for your best interest. Money seems to bring out the worst in some people. And for GOD'S SAKE, list a reserve price at auction so you are not giving your coins away for nothing. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!
