The best solvent for all albumins (including egg albumin) is buffered water. The key is to not allow acid or bases or heat to denature any of the albumin. Denaturing makes the protein insoluble.

Warm (not hot or cold) water near pH of 7 is best. The usual solubility is about one gram of albumin per 10 cc or mL of water.
