He should not be hanged or judicially killed.

I did not follow the trial very well, so I feel rather unqualified to comment, but I gather that there were irregularities.
That said I am sure that the man was guilty of many crimes against humanity, but hanging is a rather medieval form of punishment, cruel and full of hate.
A custodial sentence would be of greater benefit to mankind in general.
We do not want to look like butchers of men in the eyes of the peace lovers do we ?

He is probably guilty. But the trail was total crap and a farce. The trail was extremely unfair, and it would seem that the decision was made a long time before the trail concluded. From watching the trail over many weeks, I would say that material provided during the trail was not sufficient to deliver a guilty verdict. Hence, I say the trial was not fair.

Won't his supporters now revere him as a martyr to Islam? I find it hard to believe that this will calm the tensions in the Middle East and especially in Iraq. Sitting in a prison cell the rest of his days would have been a far more effective punishment.

The full sentence is that he will hang in the Tate Modern.
It's a terrible fate for the man and I hope the judge can rest easily with his conscience.

he must be punished...but is hanging the only option, saddam wanted to be sentenced to the firing squad, imo both these options are too quick for the sick and evil beast !!
