Why are Rappers so damn angry all the time?

You never see them smile. They always look like they're really annoyed and have an attitude, and they all talk like they're spoiling for a fight.

Now I've noticed that they all drive around in big pimped up cars, wear lots of expensive designer label clothes, and all have tons of chunky blingy gold jewellery dripping from them, so it's quite obvious that they have loads and loads of money, and live very comfortable easy lives.

So why the anger?
Who are they angry with?

Giving you a view of power, anger and being a person u cant deal wiz except if u r one of them.

not to forget that in a world like ours angers is a must u can never escape anger when its a need in our life, so as a market they are targetting those teens or after teenage hood ppl that are welling to hear a song that reflects there attitude .

But honestly facial acts can never be a fact of someone abilities !!
They can be angry and scary and they can eat you :) but lets say they disturb a boxing player ... there angry face would be a baaaad face :P

Because they target angry, sex-obsessed teenagers with attitute problem. That's their fan-base. If they were rapping about lovely things like Gucci shoes and pink fluffy bunnies I don't think they'd have a big audience so they wouldn't make much money. It is true, the reason they may have chosen this style is because some bad things happened to them while they were growing up and perhaps no matter how well you live, you can never get rid of that anger. Rap is all about venting your spleen and being violent.

Gangsta is a state of mind. It's a way of thinking, speaking, breathing, and living.
The hood is the place that it started. Los Angeles, Detroit, Phiily & NY are the cities. The life of the street---survival. Drugs & merchandise, makin da money. Everyone has to act tough enough to be in this hood.
They use words that are opposite to discribe something. foo means fool, Sick means super cool, tragic means fantastic. Every gang has their own word play and tattoo's to assertain who they belong too.

Gangsta state of mind is all many people know. Many times part of that mindset is being able to take a life in cold blood and laugh about it.

most of them have grown up with nothing.in a seriously nasty environment what else are they going to be like?drive by shootings,drugs,crime is all most of them have seen when they were kids.if you have that in your face every day,it,s going to stay

Getting a point across to the audience is what their basically doing and I wouldn't call it angry, it's just the way they communicate from how they feel inside. You can't steriotype rap artist by saying their always mad, because there not.

thats not true! mebbe sum rappers are like that but i think youll find that eminem isnt at all! he doesnt wear all the chav jewellery, he doesnt have the flashy cars and certainly doesnt lead a very comfortable easy life!
