accually my tank box said that I wouldnt need about 15 pounds for my 10 gal but I think I only got about 5 pound for a few bucks and it covers the bottom but if you are gonna have alot of plastic plants you will need to hold htem down which will take more rocks

How high do you want the gravel? If you want 1,2 or 3 inches then it will be a different amount that you need. I don't like using too much, usually just enough to cover the bottom but I like bare bottoms better anyway with just a handful or so of river rocks, especially for goldfish. Since they are so messy its just so much easier to clean when there isn't a bunch of gravel for all the poo to get stuck under but the river rocks give them something to root around in.
