It is a yeast infection in the mouth. It can be transferred from baby's mouth to mom's nipple if you are breastfeeding. There is medicine for it, but you have to get it from the doc. Don't stress over it. You can't prevent it, some babies are just more prone to it. It can make their mouth sore. My daughter had it and she is tube fed (she doesn't eat by mouth at all).

Thrush is basically a yeast infection in the mouth. It presents itself as white patches on the tongue and gums of the mouthMy daughter gets it every time she goes on Amoxicillin. When she gets it her pediatrician gives her oral Nystatin, another antibiotic, to help clear it up.

my cousin and her baby had thrush and what i learned is it is a rash that is on ur breast (if breast feeding) and the inside of the baby's mouth. both mother and baby have to be treated at the same time to prevent the infected person from giving it to the un-infected person.
u have to go to ur doc and they will give u a cream to put on a few times a day for a few days. it is common and nothing to be too worried about.

A fungal infection of the mouth. It's pretty common and very treatable. You'll see little white things like cottage cheese curds in the baby's mouth.
