There are some hsbc cash machines with this option, but mostly outside/inside the branch.

I deposit cheques at the cash point outside and there are never any problems.
But if you go and deposit it inside the machine in the branch, with the touch screen, you can see a copy of the cheque on the receipt at the end of the deposit!

Inside the branch they have paying in machines which look a bit like cash machines.

Not normally outside, but they do have paying in machines inside most branches.
