I seen in a movie the other day a pre op transsexual was stabbed in both eyes
And she stoped caring about her looks and stopped taking hormones cut off all of her hair started to live as a man again
I don’t know what I would do in that predicament

So what would you do
change you looks even if you can not see your self, change
or go back to being what you hated being before
for other words is it all about look to you or is it about your whole being?

I too think of my self as more then just a look
the whole being of me is what i am, and what wish to be
it would be upsetting not to see your self transform
but it would still be worth doing thank you to all those that answerd
good luck with your own transitions
and hope none of you will every have to go though lossing your sight it can be hard enoughas it is

I'd still go through with transitioning. I view the body as a piece of art. Even if I can't see the canvas I still want to play with it and mold it into a form I'm more comfortable with. Maybe it's the stubborn Irish in me, but I'd never give up on something that's such an important part of my life. Anymore I consider myself genderqueer more than trans. The reasons that I have for transitioning won't go away if I lose my sight.

A very frightening movie.
Initially, transitioning is about appearance. And then you wake up one morning to find that your brain is working properly for the first time in your life. That feeling is indescribable. I will NEVER voluntarily give that up. Life is now meaningful for me. And would continue to be, even if I was blind.

i would continue even if i went blind. what i see in my minds mirror matters more to me than what i see in the worlds mirror. i have felt this way for a lot of years. the worlds mirror is of no consequence to me. i have to go with what i feel and believe to be true. there is an old saying, to thine own self be true, in my case going thru transition and SRS is being true to my ownself.

I am by no means an authority on anything like this...but from what I have read it is more aboutyour whole being than your looks.

i'd carry on with transition, it's not about looks, although it's important. It's all about how you feel on the inside.
