Baby's can see when they open there eyes for the first time, you see if they can see an object 1 foot away that is small, they can see a bigger object that is 20 feet away, there eyes are still coming in to focus, so for the first couple months they don't see detail, more like outlines of things, then when they are about 2months and older everything starts having detail, and she will see you enter a room and know that it is you and will follow you with her eyes, then they will learn to turn there head to keep seeing things, you can do a little test if you want. When i come over to my baby I will get down to her eye level and talk to her for a minute, then i will stand up and turn around, and you'll be surprised on the reaction you will get, you'll find that the baby will like seeing your face better rather than your body. They can see color from when they was born, if you put cartoons on it will catch there eye, not whats going on in it but the colors, baby's love different colors. Hope this helps you, god bless you and cherish every moment

They can see the first time they open their eyes however their sight does not become really good until about 2 moths of age when they get good distance vision but by 6 months should see everything and not miss a trick.

they can see from the first moment their born but their vision is limited until their about 3 mos. when there born they can see only 12 inches from their face (perfect distance when u are craddeling them in ur arms to see ur smiling face!). they like to look at high contrasts like white, black, and red.
