Cyprus guy why are you such a hater? You spend you whole day talking bad about Turks. I am half Greek, half Italian and I am ashamed of your comments. First of all Turks are the only group (since Ottoman days) that opened their doors to Jews. Armenians always lived in peace in this country (if you ask the actual people that live there.) Greek Patriarch and the head of Armenian Churc reside there. In Izmir and IStanbul here are plenty of Christians. The 7 hurches of Revelation are in Turkey untouched some of them still being used (like St. Policarp in Izmir) I know these because I have traveled to Turkey many times and ave seen it myself. I have even lived there for 2 years.
Turkey is no comparison to any Arab country. They are very accepting of other religions and cultures. I have relatives (that are Greek) that still live in Turkey. Very happy. With teir Greek names, and attending Church all the time. I have Jewish friends that are very happy. Carry your hate elsewhere my friend. Why do you hate these people so much? Politically there maybe fights. But we will never tackle the political issues as long as there is people like you on both sides.
I look at the answers on yahoo. There is not a single Turk that has bad comments for Greeks. But only Greeks that are constantly cursing somebody out. There are plenty of Greeks that are educated and smart enough that give good answers as well. But pease my friend, it is unnecessary. Andyou always have some wrong claims. Get your facts right. And for your informaiton 2% of Turkish population is nt Muslim. They are Jews and Christians and that is 1 and a half million people.
Also I have no idea what El Chris is talking about. Turkey stealing Armenia. Armenia did not even have a country until recently. Ottomans (Turks) were on this land for 600 years. BEfore that the land was mainly occupied by tribes and before than Greek. Where the hell do you guys fit in? Nothing was stolen from you. I am a history buff. I looked ino all the allegations with an objectiview. Your country (Armenia) does not want to release historical archives It loks like you have somethign to hide. It is also obvious that Armenians at the time tried to team up with the Russians and form a Christian union. Also instead of talking about the genocide claims, why dont you ask your own government to stop their own genocide against Azeris today.
I am half Geek, half Italian. Currently reside in Italy. And proud off it. But I can not stand ignorant people. Have you ever traveled to tis country? How many objective books have you read?

Turkey has a democracy but also has a long history of being the gateway to Europe and periodically part of Europe. They were the capital of the eastern Roman empire before the Ottomans made them Muslim. Later their greatest general made them more democratic and now the current government is leaning more toward the Muslim way of thinking. They want to join the EU but Europe has disappointed them several times in that. Turkey is a very old and sophisticated country. Turkish cuisine is ranked as one of the best in the world with French, Italian, Chinese.

Actually Turkey is not an "Islamic country" such German is not a Christian country. Most turkish people are Muslim and the name is Turkish Republic and the system is democracy. It's a modern country and the laws are almost same with any other European country.

Turkey is responsible for the Armenian Genocide. Other Islamic countries have not commited genocide. Turkey is a beautifull nation, but it was stolen from Armenia during the Armenian Genocide.

Perhaps the lack of churches, and churchy divisions. For although the seven churches of Asia mentioned in the book of Revelation are all located in what is now Turkey, there hasn't been any of these churches for a long time.
I just spoke with Canadian friends who returned from a Mediteranean holiday tour. They felt comfortable in Turkey, but did not feel comfortable in muslim areas of Egypt and Greece.

The difference is the intolerance against religious minorities and the fact that they are a danger to their neighbors. The arab countries are more tolerant of Christians. There are millions of Christian Arabs but not many Turkish Christian (i am not sure if there are any for that matter).
