One thing I've learned in life is everything offends someone. Someone is always insulting Christianity including Muslin's. Are Christians offended? You bet. However, the prophet Jesus fortold this so it doesn't surprise us at all, breaks the heart, but no surprise and we're not going to burn cars and flags over it either, that's not the Christian way.
Our own courts have ordered the 10 commandments taken out of public sight, the ACLU is trying to take "God" out of our pledge of allegiance. Our Jesus and the cross is mocked. That's just for starters.
Radical Muslin's around the world have announced that all religions except theirs will be destroyed by them. I didn't hear one Muslin apologize for that nor did I expect them to. Our religion means nothing to them, just as theirs mean nothing to most other religions. In my opinion, it's unreasonable to demand others respect our beliefs or prophet's.
Muslin's are trying to make their belief's THE global religion. They've brought a lot of negative attention onto themselves by saying such things as the Prophet Allah instructs them to kill the infidel. When they do that, they should expect a negative reaction.

I try not to insult anyone when possible. I also do not support anyone attacking another religion. However, while I agree with the right of people to protest that which they find offensive, let's be honest here. It may be okay to protest, but when you riot and call for death to your enemies you are not going to find wide support from rational thinking people. Christians and Jews are maligned in the press and also by radical Muslims constantly and they are not reacting in the same manner. Rational responses bring compassion in the wider world. Irrational responses and over reactions give people cause to wonder if the smears are correct in content. Perhaps the perpetrators of offenses should apologize when their actions are inflammatory, but even in the absence of apology radical Muslims are showing themselves to be as bad or worse by over reacting. The Danish events may cause distress, but they do not support the calls for violence. I wonder how many people remember Salmon Rushdie who is still in hiding with a price on his head because he dared to write a book which was unfavorable to Islam? In the United States we believe in free speech, you do not have to like or agree with what is being said, but you should respect the right of people to voice their opinion.

Of course, it would be wonderful if everyone respected everyone else and their religious beliefs. The Danish government ALREADY apologized for the Muhammed cartoon, but Angel...It was just a cartoon!! The Muslim community has printed much more awful cartoons of Israelis and the Christian Jesus in their papers and tabloids. While religious peoples of those beliefs were likely insulted, you did not see them rioting, destroying property, and killing in protest. Those acts diminish your religion every bit as much as the cartoon itself.

Today that means 29-Feb or a million-Mar? If it's 29-Feb it's relatively morbid, as soon as each and every 4 years? Self damage will also be addictive so are there attention days for all varieties of additives? There must be!! As we growth there shall be. We've come far with regards to attention.

Here's the analogy.
A person says something at a party. The intended audience is amused. Someone else, who wasn't at the party, is offended.
Is the offended person entitled to be offended? Sure. They can feel any way they want.
Was the person who spoke wrong to do so? I don't think so. They said something in one context, to one group of people. If someone outside that group is offended, that their choice.
We should stop apologizing for how someone else chooses to take our statements, and limit the apologies to what we intended. Anything else rapidly becomes a foolish waste of time, because someone will always find a way to be offended, no matter what is said.
