You more than likely need new rings, take it to a qualified mechanic, and have them replaced.....

it means that you have oil passing the piston rings ( these are the rings around the piston which slide up and down inside your cylinder walls) or the oil is passing your valve seals, either way if the oil makes its way into the cylinder it will get burned along with the petrol. the oil is only for lubrication and shouldn't mix with the petrol in the combustion chamber. An easy way to see if this is the problem is to start the engine and rev it up, if the smoke is a sort of blue colour and if it has a nasty acrid smell, then most likely your engine has one of the above problems. you'll have to take it to get repaired, which will prove to be a fairly expensive exercise!! I hope this was some help.

if your quad bike is a 4 stroke or 2 it could be the rings that seal the pistons are not getting all the oil of the cylinder wall when it is going down and then is pushed up to be burned
4 stroke is the cycle that it takes to make power 1 sucks in the petrol 2 compression 3 burning of the air and petrol 4 gets rid of the old burnt air and petrol
this cycle has vales that let in and out of the gas there is a seal on top of this 2 that can leak manly at start
both of this means there is problems that will need action to repair it

Means that oil is somehow getting past the rings of the pistons, or getting past the seals of the valves, and or even the PCV valve system isn't functioning like it should. Pretty much your engine is in need of getting repaired. I assume you have over 100k miles on it at least?? Hope this made some sense for you.

It means you have either : an oil leak, a faulty engine, both.
